This project was brought to my attention during cv19. My daughter got it for me. I had to fill an A5 sketch book that would eventually end up on a shelf with a dewy decimal number. This excited me with just a hint of apprehension.

Deciding what to do, thankfully I have enough art that a memoir of my creations seemed the most gratifying path for me to take.

This gave me some logic to the layout I wanted, and the former projects lend themselves to the presentation. An example would be, the kirigami piece was 3D.

The gaps I filled in with new art, one of which was a water painting of a local lake. Taking time to look at old sketch books, You Tube suggested channels, and google, I grew a greater understanding of how to approach some pages.

As the book evolved, my self confidence did also. It was a wonderful experience, to watch the work that I had left in the past come to life once more.

After completion, I received an email with my catalog number, and not too long after that the project closed the doors after 17 years.

This then triggered a reality, that this creative experience was no longer available to that degree anymore. It is a wonderful concept to have so many artists from different back stories gathered in one collection.
