What a wonderful morning with the Sketchbook Library of Ireland in Cashel Library for the Bealtaine Festival
Ani and I from the Sketchbook Library of Ireland Team set off last Sunday for a road trip to Cashel to bring a sample of the sketchbooks on tour for the first time. Very exciting indeed. We stayed overnight in Copperfield House, and highly recommend it if you are visiting the area. Beautiful setting, and as for the breakfast!
Off to Cashel Library bright and early on Monday morning! A beautiful setting and such friendly and helpful staff members, we felt very much at home as we set up. We brought completed sketchbooks from SLI and plenty of art supplies and materials.
We spent a wonderful, playful, creative morning with these lovely ladies. Thank you to Breda, Catherine, Hilda, Ellen and Kathleen for spending time with us and for your enthusiastic exploration of new techniques and materials. it was truly a pleasure.
We explored Gelli Printing, Embossing, Collage, Sketching, Pastels, Watercolour Pencils and Watercolours and played with a variety of tools and techniques. The ladies enjoyed trying new things in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Ani and I left the library to head back to Cavan feeling happy and energised, and excited for the next official road trip. We have a few venues in mind, including Kerry and Longford, and we are happy to travel to your locality, just drop us an email and we can organise it.
Finally, and once again, a big thank you to the staff of Cashel Library who were so warm and welcoming. It’s a beautiful space and they run events on an ongoing basis, if you live in the area to pay a visit. Cashel Library is about more than books!
